Turkey’s CRC imports decreasing

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the first ten months of this year, Turkey’s cold-rolled coil (CRC) imports totaled around 602,400 tons, sliding by 9.4% compared to the same period a year ago. The import value totaled US$623 million during the period, a year-on-year hike of 1.7%.

Among them, the top three import sources were Russia (around 247,600 tons, a year-on-year drop of 4.7%), China (around 125,100 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 45.2%), and South Korea (around 113,900 tons, a year-on-year hike of 54.2%).

In October alone, Turkey imported roughly 37,000 tons of CRC, down by 53% month on month and by 32% year on year. These imports were worth roughly US$34.1 million, falling by 55% month on month and by 46% year on year.
